Bahama Village Music Program is doing wonderful things! I am so proud of the students and the students teachers this year and so excited to be able to provide this fabulous community with the gift of music education. This is my seventh year as program director and my ninth year with BVMP. I am so grateful to our community for all the support we've been given!
We are planning some great stuff for the 2011-2012 school year including a children's choir! We are also planning ensemble classes and more interaction with Berklee School of Music through their PULSE education website. Katey went to training in Boston this summer and came back with lots of great ideas to improve BVMP and the classes we offer. Check back here to find out all the exciting things we have in store!
This program is funded by our board sponsered fundraisers, including our cookbook sales and FUNdraisers! Next up we have the annual Goombay Celebration, where we will be performing as well as hosting a booth. And we will be holding our 3rd annual "Day Filled with Music," scheduled this year for Sunday November 6th at the Oldest House on Duval St. If you'd like to play at the events or donate a silent auction item please let me know. Please click on the events tab to see a full list of our upcoming and ongoing fundraisers!
We are always in need of donations from wonderful arts supporters like you. Click on the donations link to find out how you can make a donation and give the gift of music to underprivileged kids in our community. Thanks for helping us fulfill our mission!
